More information: In 1859 the Russian Musical Society, founded by Grand Duchess Elena Pavlovna and Anton Rubinstein, became the first of such institutions in Russia that was accessible by the general public. The school was disbanded in the early 20th century folloiwng the Russian Revolution but reincarnated in 2010 when the All-Russian Music Society renamed itself the Russian Music Society.
